OostendeA massive manhunt was also held in Ostend on Thursday evening, for the suspect of one assassination attempt in Bredene on Sunday evening. The Provincial Domain of Raversijde was hermetically sealed for hours. A large police force combed the dunes and nature reserve and a police helicopter circled the entire time.

The police strongly suspected that the 45-year-old suspect, who may be armed, was hiding in the nature reserve. Every entrance to the area was closed off and police were on the lookout everywhere. Caravans in the neighboring campsite were also searched. Hikers were turned away.

The 45-year-old LA is suspected of a murder attempt on Sunday night. He sneaked into his ex-girlfriend’s new home in the Prinses Elisabethlaan in Bredene, by scrambling over the garden wall with a rope. Inside, he shot her new friend in the shoulder with a shotgun and tried to hit him with a hammer. The ex-girlfriend was also injured, but is less bad. The suspect fled when the victims fled. He has been on the run for four days now. The search on Thursday evening has now ended, without result, is confirmed by the police.
