also diversions and cancellations this weekend at the S-Bahn Halle-Leipzig – You are Halle

Due to work on the technical equipment of the signaling and security technology in the electronic interlocking (ESTW), diversions, replacement services with buses and trams and changed travel times in S-Bahn, regional and long-distance traffic will occur this weekend in the Leipzig railway node. At the same time, new cable troughs and light signals are set up in Leipzig-Wiederitzsch. The work takes place day and night with road-rail excavators, wheel loaders and trucks. Despite the use of modern equipment and technologies, construction noise can occur.

From June 19 (4 a.m.) to June 20, 2021 (10 a.m.), the Leipzig City Tunnel and the sections Leipzig Hbf-Leipzig Messe, Leipzig-Wiederitzsch-Leipzig Messe, Leipzig Hbf-Leipzig-Leutzsch and additionally on June 20 (1.30 to 6 a.m.) the sections Leipzig Hbf — Engelsdorf and Leipzig-Stötteritz — Neukieritzsch will be closed.

Deutsche Bahn and the other transport companies have prepared a comprehensive replacement transport concept. All timetable changes have already been incorporated into the electronic timetable in advance and are included in the online travel information (www.bahn.de, App DB Navigator), in the DB travel centers or at the ticket machines. Deutsche Bahn apologizes to travelers and residents for the inconvenience this may have caused.

This construction project is part of the “#Neues Netz für Deutschland” program for mobility and climate change. Around 650 million euros will be available for the infrastructure in Saxony in 2021. DB is tackling 100 kilometers of track, 80 switches and 10 railway bridges this year with a record sum. In addition, Deutsche Bahn is modernizing 35 stops and train stations – including Dresden Central Station. Medium-sized and smaller stations such as Borna, Coswig, Flöha, Görlitz and Dresden-Plauen also benefit from the investments.
