Farmers have today blocked supermarket distribution centers in several places across the country. Tonight there will be promotions in Heerenveen, Raalte and Breda. This morning there were already tractors in Veghel and Woerden, at the distribution centers of Jumbo.
In Heerenveen, a few dozen farmers have come to the Lidl distribution center with tractors. In Raalte, it concerns the supply location of the Jumbo. According to RTV East it concerns an estimated eighty tractors. A spokesperson for the supermarket chain says that the action will not cause any problems for stocking the stores for the time being.
It is unclear which organizations are behind the actions. Farmers say they often don’t get a fair price for their products. They want a special quality mark for agricultural products that do.
