FAJAR.CO.ID, PARIS—Joao Felix wants to move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) amid Aston Villa’s interest. However, the former Chelsea loanee has a problem.
The Portugal forward joined Atletico Madrid in a £113 million deal from Porto in 2019. His current contract at Atletico expires in 2027.
The former Chelsea loanee is known to be desperate to leave Atletico after falling out with manager Diego Simeone before moving to England.
After scoring just four goals in 20 appearances in all competitions, the west London club have decided not to make their temporary stay permanent.
Hence, now Felix has turned his attention to moving to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.
AS reports quoted from talkSPORT, the 23-year-old player wants to keep playing in the Champions League and fight for the title. But according to Marca, the French team have yet to contact him.
The Spanish media have also reported there is long-term interest from Aston Villa. The Villans want to make him their go-to player, however, Premier League teams can only offer Conference League football.
The winger is also reportedly keen to leave the club as soon as possible, even before the pre-season tour begins on July 24.
He has been linked with a move to Galatasaray after the president of the Turkish Super Lig club hinted the winger would make a surprise move.
But until there is a club that fits Felix’s terms and Atletico’s hefty release clause, the former Porto star will remain with the LaLiga side. (amr)
