Already this Thursday – the presentation of the Klaipėda district resident card

This week, residents of Klaipėda district will be offered another service – the Resident’s card. It will be issued free of charge and will not only offer cardholders a variety of discounts ranging from 10 to 50 percent, but will also allow them to participate in surveys, as well as vote for, for example, “Your Idea” projects, or get more involved in the life of the district. Various discounts will be applied not only in the Klaipėda region, but also in the cities of Klaipėda and Palanga, and in the future it is expected to expand this geography even further. Already on Thursday, it will be possible to download the mobile application of the card to phones – it will be found in the Google Play store as “Open Horizons”.

The start of the resident card – April 4, 5 p.m. In Gargždais, on Municipality Square, residents can expect an impressive performance by the illusionist Manto Wizard, free coffee, popcorn and a game without losing. The first 2 thousand residents who take out a physical card or download the app to their phones will win various prizes.

The benefits of the resident card are unquestionable. And only Klaipėda district residents will be able to own it and use it under exceptional conditions. And there will be various offers. As many as 10 draft decisions were approved in the Council this week. Therefore, residents of the Klaipėda district who have this card will receive a 50 percent discount on educations and events held in the six cultural centers of the Klaipėda district, the Jonas Lankutis public library, the Gargždai regional museum, and the Klaipėda district tourism information center. In addition, the Tourist Information Center will also not apply a surcharge for souvenirs or tourist paraphernalia to card holders.

Discount cards will also be available at the “Minijos” cinema. All movies, except those shown in 3D format, will receive a 20 percent discount for adults. The Gargždai sports center will also apply even several different discounts. For example, card holders will receive a 10 percent discount for renting a hall for physical training, a 15 percent discount will be applied to the rental of padel courts and a covered tennis court, and even 50 percent less will be the price of interventional training for the promotion of physical activity organized by Sporto center

The discounts provided by the resident’s card will cover not only the Klaipėda district, but also the cities of Klaipėda and Palanga. A 30 percent discount will be applied at the Klaipėda Youth Theater, a 25 percent discount at the Klaipėda Concert Hall, Cultural Communications Center, and Fisherman’s Palace events. The Palanga swimming pool is also planning to join the wider range of services for the residents of the district. Residents are offered 10 percent discounts for subscriptions and 20 percent for one-time visits.

Business is also connected to this project. Currently, we have as many as 33 different business companies that will apply one or another discounts to our residents. On average, the amount of the discount will be 10 percent, but there are also such companies that will apply a 15 or even 30 percent discount to the card holder. And the spectrum of the companies’ activities is diverse – from construction to the business of cafes or online stores.

True, this will not be just a discount app. This will be a modern tool that will allow you to receive feedback from residents as well – they will be able to participate in surveys, you will be able to find a calendar of events here, as well as vote for Participatory budget projects, etc. events, but also participate in education, sports, other activities, get more involved in the life of the district and feel like a real district resident.
