The second season of ‘Cupido or something’ with Ruth Beeckmans and Frances Lefebure has been restarted on VTM.

A new year, a new chance for Cupid or something. The second season of the VTM program in which Frances Lefebure (33) and Ruth Beeckmans (39) help singles with a disability or disorder during their first steps in dating, was taken off the tube last year after only two episodes.

“To give this heartwarming program every opportunity.” That is why VTM stopped broadcasting the second season of at the end of November Cupid or something. Now the new episodes could use those opportunities too. The first season, in which Karen Damen (47) still presented with Beeckmans, initially attracted more than half a million viewers. The new episodes could only attract an average of 170,000 viewers.
VTM applied the same strategy last year to The opposite world, the debut of Mathias Coppens (43) as a quizmaster. After disappointing results in the spring, that was moved to the summer. Also to ‘give the program more space’. That didn’t make much difference, though. It remains to be seen whether Cupid or something does benefit from the new broadcast dates.
Dating like superheroes
In the first new episode, Beeckmans and Lefebure plan a date for Bert (32) and Soetkin (33). He has a acquired brain disorder (NAH), she has a motor and intellectual disability. After an accident, Bert was in a coma for a long time and had to learn everything again. However, he has little to no inhibitions anymore, which makes it difficult to frame feelings. He is looking for someone with whom he can find peace.
Is ‘eternal smiley face’ Soetkin, who is looking for someone with whom she can watch a movie together on the couch, the ideal date? Their first date already contains a dash of humor: Bert goes in search of his dream princess in a white carriage.

Also in the picture are Baptiste (30) and Amélie (31), who both have a physical and cognitive disability. He is a romantic soul who falls in love quickly, she needs time to allow someone into her heart. Their first date takes place in a mini action park with all kinds of games.
Dries (22) and Sascha (22) have ASD. Both are creative: he writes his own superhero stories, she can express herself in her drawings. Their autism sometimes makes it difficult to meet new people and make good contacts. Both are ripe for a partner who will help them regain their confidence and expand their world. Their first date has, how could it be otherwise, a superhero theme. The two of them have to make a real superhero movie poster.
