In its press release, the Ministry of the Interior reveals that of the nine bodies found, the remains of “ Jacques MBA Eya, aged 13, student, living in the Pompidou city; Obame Abaga, aged 14, student, resident in Awendjé; Keurly Pendi Tebeu, aged 15, student in 5th grade; Branly Pendi Massala, aged 16, 5th grade student, all Gabonese nationals » have been identified. Let’s learn. The 5 other bodies are still unidentified; their identification is continuing by the technical and scientific police.

Indeed, since March 10, 2024, Gabon’s marine coastline has been experiencing tidal increases linked to climate change. This disruption, which is manifested, among other things, by an unusual rise in tides, has very unfortunately led to loss of human life, as indicated in the minister’s press release, which calls on populations to be more vigilant in the face of this situation.

The minister also wanted to present in his press release his deep condolences and deep compassion to the parents of the victims. Note that populations are asked to avoid beaches during this period as indicated by the Libreville weather service last Monday.
