Already criticized ‘Queen Elizabeth’ in new The Crown

The Crown critically acclaimed by royalty and critics, but not everyone is a fan of the Netflix hit. Timothy Brown, a British Army veteran, sent an angry letter to The Times. It can be read that he is not happy with the ‘sloppy salute’ that Olivia, who plays Elizabeth, brings during a memorial on the show. “The Crown may be nice television, but the inaccuracies in the series are typified by this kind of carelessness of Olivia Colman who tries to imitate our Queen, “said the frustrated veteran.

“As far as I know, Her Majesty’s salute has always been exemplary,” continues Timothy The Times. How should it actually be? According to the veteran, “the forearm and the hand should be straight.” Olivia is holding the palm of her hand out as it should, but her wrist is just a little too kinked. “Many viewers will not notice it, but for former soldiers who love the rules, this is not to be seen.” This would mainly have to do with this being a gesture of respect and recognition, which is now being lost.

The new season of The Crown will premiere worldwide on November 15. RTL Boulevard spoke with lead actors Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin, as can be seen in the video below.
