electric carts
To date, 3,073 premium applications have been submitted for an electric car, Minister of Mobility Lydia Peeters (Open VLD) announces.
About 2,600 requests were made for new cars, 440 for second-hand cars, 100 for cars for car sharing and 40 for vehicles for non-profit organizations. Multiplied by the premium amounts, this amounts to an amount of approximately 15 million euros.
The Flemish government had initially provided 20 million euros for this year. If that amount is not sufficient, another 6 million euros will be used from climate resources. “And even if that is not sufficient, we will make adjustments,” Peeters assured on Thursday in the Flemish Parliament at the request of Member of Parliament Els Robeyns (Vooruit). “Then we will be a reliable government for everyone who orders a car until December 2024.” (Belga)
