Alphonse Trévisan wins the gold medal at the Open Contact

“Contact” is a style of karate that allows the safe practice (helmet, gloves, shin guards and foot guards) of the different foot and fist techniques from traditional karate. It is practiced on a tatami and the KO is authorized although it is not an end.

In “semi-contact”, the fighter must beat his opponent by the number and precision of the targets hit, by the variety of techniques and sequences employed and in particular the balanced use of feet and fists.

Spectacular

The interest of this competition lies in the fact that the fighters are not “formatted” in a single fighting style. The specificities of each style gave rise to spectacular combat sequences with foot-and-fist sequences followed by projections in perfect timing.
