Alphaville Performs “Forever Young” at Legends Festival on the Ćiluci Lake Peninsula

On July 22, the German group Alphaville, known as the “forever young and immortal”, will perform concerts with their “immortal” super hit “Forever Young” at the legends music festival on the Ćiluci lake peninsula of Biržu district.

“Forever Young” is heard in all corners of the Earth

Forever young, I want to be forever young. Do you really want to live forever, forever and always? Forever young, I want to be forever young…

Music magician Chris Norman last July (Chris Norman) the concert was the first to wake up the peninsula of the Ćiluchi lake, but that was only the beginning. On July 22 of this year, more than one charming musical genius will welcome us here – not only Tomas Anders from the group “Modern Talking”, but also the world-famous “Alphaville” will perform!

The group was founded in 1982 by Marians Golds (real name Hartwig Schierbaum), and initially its name was “Forever Young”. But soon the name was changed to the well-known “Alphaville” for music lovers.

True, even before their most famous song “Forever Young”, their first super hit “Big in Japan” was released in 1984, followed by “Sounds Like a Melody”.

The ballad “Forever Young” made the group famous all over the world and immediately reached the top of the charts, but neither M. Gold nor the other members of the group could have imagined that this superhit would not only be played in all corners of the Earth, but would also become dozens of films and TV series. soundtrack, will sing it and use it in their songs Jay-Z, Laura Branigan, Karel Gott, One Direction and many other world music stars.

“It’s a compliment to us, but I don’t emphasize it. Sometimes the song has interesting variations. For example, the song “Forever Young” has been reworked by Polish metallers and performed by a woman. It was unusual. However, I’m more interested in seeing a project run by the band’s fans, who perform our songs themselves and release selections of those records every couple of years. It shows a lot of self-sacrifice,” says Marian Gold.

Four rules

The German electronic music group did not become the authors of just one or three superhits (“Forever Young”, “Big in Japan”, “Sounds Like a Melody”).

Not only these three, but also “Jerusalem”, “Flame”, “Dance With Me” ranked in the charts of Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Great Britain and even Argentina, Japan and other countries, the prestigious US magazine “Billboard” and many other Alphaville singles.

The group “Alphaville” still does not lose popularity, in their songs they often address nuclear war, prostitution, social and other current and global problems, they travel from Salt Lake City to Singapore, from Port-au-Prince to Prague, from Brazil to the GDR, their songs are still heard on all continents, but the unique voice of the “Alphaville” singer still captivates millions of people.

How does he protect this gift from God – his unique voice?

“I have four rules. I try to talk as little as possible, not to give interviews during tours, to warm up my voice every time before the performance of the first song and to sink into silence after every concert,” admits Marian Gold, who has seven children.

To become immortal, you must die first.

He loves to travel and, as he says, is as curious as a stray cat. He says with a smile that he will not be surprised if death washes him somewhere. “Until then, I arrive in a new city, leave my colleagues and wander around different corners. I like museums and art galleries,” says the “Alphaville” leader.

Having performed dozens of world tours, the group is like perpetum mobileand even now it does not stand still: it creates all kinds of projects, as if traveling back in time and continuing its immortal story every time anew.

“We’ve been playing and being popular for decades, so we feel like immortals and keep the key to our success – Carry your flag strong,” says Marian Gold, the leader and lead singer of the German pop legend band.

It is known that he was once really interested in immortality, but if he wanted to be forever young and see his loved ones and friends pass away one by one, Marian replied: “If you listen carefully to the lyrics of the song ‘Forever Young’, you will feel the hidden irony for immortality. Besides, experience tells us that to become immortal, one must first die…”

Asked to recall the happiest day of his life, the leader of “Alphaville” mused: “I once had a terrible nightmare at night. I was terrified! But when I awoke, fortunately and with great relief, I realized that the terrible events of the night were just a terrible dream. And the next 24 hours after that nightmare were the most wonderful time of my life…”

When asked: what is his biggest dream as a musician and as a person, he is open: “It matches. Do what I’m doing now until I die. We love all our fans very much. I know, we also have a lot of them in Lithuania, where we have had very fun adventures that left a lot of vivid memories, so it is always nice to come back to you,” smiles Marians Golds, inviting everyone to an impressive concert on the Įluči peninsula on July 22.
