Alphard’s Horror ‘Destroyer’ Candidate, Cheaper & Fits 11 People

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apparently, it’s not only Avanza that is threatened. However, Alphard’s position could be threatened. The reason is, these two MPV players are dealing with new competitors.

In the 11-passenger MPV market, Alphard seems to need to be wary of KIA’s courage. The sole agent holding this brand also launched the KIA Grand Carnival in Indonesia. Which seems to be replacing the KIA Sedona.

Grand Carnival is designed to carry 11 passengers. Although large, it turns out the price is much cheaper than Toyota’s Alphard.

For the Premiere type, the Grand Carnival price ranges from Rp. 886.6 million and Rp. 786.8 million for the Dynamic type.

The price of the KIA Grand Carnival Dynamic turned out to be cheaper by almost Rp. 400 million, or to be precise, Rp. 375 million from the lowest Toyota Alphard type, namely 2.5 XA/T. The car, which is often synonymous with officials, is priced at Rp. 1.147 billion.

Another comparison for the higher class, the Alphard is priced at Rp. 1.577 billion for the 3.5 QA/T type, while the Grand Carnival for the Premiere type is priced at Rp. 886.6 million. There is a difference of almost IDR 700 million.

Although much cheaper than the Alphard, the features in it can’t be taken lightly. This car is equipped with several advanced features, including Smart Power Sliding Door, Remote One-touch Power Door & Liftgate, Power Tailgate Auto-close, and Get On/Off Puddle Light.

Then there are other safety features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist Junction Turning (FCA-JT) and also Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).

By design, the Kia Grand Carnival appears with a more assertive fascia with a large grille and sporty LED DRL lighting accents. Unlike the appearance of the Kia Grand Sedona, which tends to be elegant with a tiger nose-style grille, which is the hallmark of Kia.

PT Kreta Indo Artha (KIA) introduced the Grand Carnival at the GIIAS 2021 exhibition which was held at ICE BSD, Tangerang.
