The battle in the premium MPV class heats up. This time, it is Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID)’s turn to collaborate with Lombardi to bring in a super luxury version of the Hyundai Staria.
From the skilled hands of Lombardi modifiers, the Hyundai Staria 9 completely overhauled the cabin. Now it’s no longer for 9 passengers, Staria 9 is plotted only for 7 passengers but replaced with quality and comfortable seats.
The area that looks the most different is the second row bench. Lombardi replaced the standard seat with a captain seat model that could be electrically adjusted by up to 10 steps.
Not only can the position be adjusted, the captain seats in the second row also have a 6-point massage feature, electric lumbar support, heated and fan cooled.
“We use a layer of leather made from premium microfiber on the seats. Apart from that, soft touch materials are also used to coat the panels,” said Andrew Laksana, President Director of Lombardi to detikcom.
Lombardi also added a partition wall between the driver’s cabin and the passenger cabin. This wall is equipped with glass that can be opened and closed electrically. Apart from that, there is also a 27-inch Smart TV that can play various current streaming service applications.
To improve the quality of entertainment, Lombardi also installed sound proofing throughout the body. Standard audio devices from Staria are also upgraded by pairing a 10-inch subwoofer and a premium 2 way audio system.
When tested by the detikcom team, Staria x Lombardi is classified as very comfortable in all sitting positions. Not only the second row seats, the third row seats also offer a spacious cabin space for easy access.
“This is what we are displaying at IIMS, which is still an actual prototype. Later we will use longer seat rails, so access to the third row can be even more comfortable. Later, if what consumers receive, it will be perfect,” said Andrew.
The Hyundai Staria x Lombardi is an additional trim included in the Staria price list. This interior modification was carried out officially by Hyundai, so of course the changes made have gone through a verification and testing process by the manufacturer.
Keep in mind, the Hyundai Staria x Lombardi is not different in dimensions or runway. This car still has a length of 5,235 mm, width of 1,997 mm, and height of 1,990 mm.
Apart from that, the engine it carries is still the same as the standard Staria, namely the R2.2 CRDi diesel engine with a capacity of 2,199 cc. This engine has power of 177 PS / 3,800 RPM and torque of 430 Nm / 1,500-2,500 RPM.
As a special trim, the Hyundai Staria x Lombardi is priced at a higher price than the usual version. Hyundai Staria x Lombardi is sold at Rp 1.429 billion on the road in DKI Jakarta.
