This summer, Alphacool introduced the Apex Stealth Metal fan series, claiming it would be nothing less than “the last fan of your life.” Now they announce that the gates are opening to pre-book the fans, which promise both maximum airflow and minimal noise.
As the name reveals, metal is part of the construction, but that only applies to the frame itself. Alphacool describes the Apex Stealth Metal as decoupled, as they depart from the otherwise common method where the fan blades are attached directly to the frame with cast arms. There are still small arms in the construction, which appear to consist of a two-part circle, one of which is equipped with fan blades.
In addition to materials and construction, 6-pole motor, optimized fan blades and fluid bearings (HDB) are specified. According to specification, they are equipped with 4-pin PWM connection and can be adjusted from 400 to 2,000 RPM, alternatively up to 3,000 RPM for the “Power” variant. Alphacool has also previously presented numbers comparing it to competitors such as Noctua, Cooler Master and Bequiet, with seemingly winning results for the metal fan.
Pre-booking opens on Sunday 8 October and is initially only via Alphacool’s website, where delivery takes place from Germany. The fan is only available in the size 120 millimeters and all four color options have the same price of 30 euros, i.e. approximately 350 kroner.
