Alpes-de-Haute-Provence Bomb Threat: Three Colleges Evacuated Before Classes

Three colleges in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence were evacuated after a new bomb threat on Tuesday November 21 before the start of classes, we learned The Dauphiné Libéré confirming information from I say BFM.

The Jean-Giono and Mont d’Or colleges in Manosque, as well as the Saint-André-les-Alpes college, were the recipients of an email indicating the presence of explosives within the establishments.

Classes could start at 9:30 a.m.

“Resolving doubts” were carried out in conjunction with the police. “The evacuations took place before classes started, there were already students inside the colleges. Around 9:30 a.m., they were able to return to their classes,” explains Mickaël Cabbeke, academic director of national education services in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

Nine bomb threats in Manosque in two weeks

For a little over two weeks, false alarms and evacuations have continued for establishments in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The very first alert dates from Monday November 6: nine establishments in Alpes-de-Haute-Provence had been evacuated. Then the following week, the Giono and Mont d’Or colleges, as well as the Saint-André-les-Alpes school, were the recipient of a threatening email on Monday, November 13.

The next day, Tuesday November 14, the only Jean Giono college was evacuated again. Before the two Manosquin colleges are targeted again on Wednesday November 15.
