Alonso breaks Schumacher’s iconic report :: AUTOBLOG ::

With Fernando Alonso’s sixth place eventually weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, the Spaniard broke the report beforehand held by Michael Schumacher for the longest factors scoring streak.

Alonso scored his first F1 factors on Sunday, March 9, 2003 on the Australian Grand Prix. Since then, the two-time world champion has scored factors in 257 F1 races.

After ending sixth on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Alonso broke Schumacher’s report for the longest time between his first and final factors, which the seven-time world champion had held since 2012.

A staggering 21 years, 2 months and 17 days elapsed between Schumacher’s first and final F1 factors, though Alonso now has 21 years and three months between his.

Alonso and Aston Martin will solely proceed to sharpen this report by way of pace. With Alonso staying in F1 till at the least 2026, the query is whether or not anybody else will ever break that report…
