De Dijk and Solomon Burke
Within the late noughties, soul legend Solomon Burke is meant to play at a celebration within the Netherlands, however the celebration is cancelled on the final minute. Now that the soul legend is within the Netherlands, he appears like enjoying music. And so the cellphone rings at De Dijk asking if Burke can play some songs throughout a live performance of the band. Huub and Hans van der Lubbe are tremendous followers of 60s soul and would like to play with their inspiration.
After the assembly, each events exchanged numbers. Guitarist JB Meijers particularly saved in contact for a very long time. “De Dijk rocks!”, Burke mentioned a number of occasions. “Let’s make a report.” And so it occurred: soul legend of the primary hour Solomon Burke sings numerous English translations from De Dijk’s oeuvre in a studio in Brussels. The total album will probably be launched on 1 January 2010 Maintain On Tight.
Burke and De Dijk had been even going to tour collectively for this report. However sadly Solomon Burke handed away on the aircraft to the Netherlands. The tour won’t go forward in its entirety, however Maintain On Tight nobody will take something away from De Dijk anymore.
