One in three companies violates the corona measures. Telework is closely monitored. This is what De Zondag writes on the basis of new figures released by Flemish Minister of Work and Economy Hilde Crevits (CD&V).

In the first week of the Easter holidays, 1,718 companies, including the self-employed, were checked for compliance with the corona measures in the workplace, such as keeping their distance and hand hygiene. No fewer than 562 cases were found to be in violation. That is almost one in three. This led to 461 warnings, 76 legal proceedings, 26 regularization time limits and 1 temporary suspension (until the necessary measures were taken).
In the same period, 2,092 companies were also checked for teleworking. Of these, only 72 were found to be in violation, or 3.4 percent. The checks were carried out by the federal inspection services in collaboration with the Flemish social inspection.
In De Zondag, Minister Crevits once again emphasized the importance of the measures. “In order to combat the virus, the legislation must be complied with,” emphasizes the minister. “Protocols have nevertheless been drawn up within the sectors and the employers’ organizations also regularly make calls to comply with the rules. However, we see that efforts are still needed. ”
