One quieter thursday this time in the schools of Côte-d’Or. If a call to strike is launched for this Thursday, January 20 in the Academy of Dijon, it will be little followed, unlike the mobilization of last week, Thursday, January 13, with 27% of teachers on strike.
So why this trend? The unions want to temporize before the big inter-professional strike day on January 27.
The unions are procrastinating
First union in Côte-d’Or, the National Unitary Union of Primary School Teachers (SNUIPP) supports the strikers but does not officially call for a strike. The decision was taken on Monday during the inter-union. The will is to do not add additional disturbances to parents and children, already very annoyed with a restrictive Covid protocol.
As a result, the difficulties will be minimal. In Dijon, only one primary school class will be in minimum reception service. The students concerned will be received in Chamberland gymnasium hall. Beyond that, all extracurricular reception centers will be open, the same for canteens. In total, only 7 teachers declared themselves strikers in the first degree on the side of the schools of Saône-et-Loire!
To explain this trend, the date of the strike also “decided too late in primary school” says Christine Bernery, departmental co-secretary of the SNUIPP 21 union.
Rallies still in front of schools on the lunch break
The pressure is still maintained, with action on the lunch break. Gatherings in front of each school are planned from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., with banners, at the initiative of SNIUPP 21 in particular. The union wants to send photos on social networks with a common hashtag at the national level #monécolecraque.
But teachers and unions still resent their minister. Jean-Michel Blanquer, pinned for his announcement of the new health protocol from his vacation spot in Ibiza. Christine Bernery is still asking for the resignation of the Minister of National Education: “the chaos is still not settled, the chaos of the health crisis is the indicator of a disastrous policy” recalls the departmental co-secretary, joined by France Bleu Bourgogne. While emphasizing “advertisements” after the measures granted by the minister on the evening of Thursday 13 January.
Mobilization in the middle of the day will, for example, be followed by Darcy kindergarten in Dijon and its director Bénédicte Foulet, who specifies that her classes are still idling with small numbers of 8, 10, 12 students at the moment, or ⅓ of those present.
On the FCPE 21 side, the same tone: “no call for a white day” this Thursday. One way not to further penalize parents and children, such as middle and high school students, who are late in the programs.
The teaching staff is indeed concentrating on the big day of interprofessional mobilization on Thursday, January 27. No major disruption is therefore expected at Dijon or at Chenove, Except last minute changes
