Almost half of CD Projekt is working on the new Witcher – INDIAN

CD Projekt RED boasted about its financial results. At the same time, the Polish company updated the number of employees on individual projects. Thanks to this, we learned that by 10/31 of this year on the expected the new Witcher almost 330 developers worked, which is less than half of this Polish studio. The number will gradually increase, and by mid-2024 the team should consist of more than 400 developers. At the end of July, almost 260 developers were working on The Witcher.

Thus on the new Witcher, which is internally marked as project Polaris, now the most people from CD Projekt RED are working. Authors started moving to the team Cyberpunk 2077. At the end of October on Cyberpunk 2077, the expansion Phantom Liberty a Ultimate Edition 220 people worked.

CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński told investors that they employ approximately 700 developers across the CD Projekt RED and The Molasses Flood teams. These are the authors of Flame in the Flood, which the company bought in 2021 and is now working on a spin-off of The Witcher, internally called Project Sirius. He had a lot of problems before.

Before you start rejoicing that a new Witcher will soon be announced, this time last year he was at least three years away. CD Projekt is getting acquainted with new technology in the form of Unreal Engine 5. He replaced it with his internal engine. Last May, The Witcher was in pre-production.
