From the nursing profession to the retail trade to the big bank: According to the “Jobradar”, around a quarter of a million jobs are vacant in Switzerland. In Zurich there are 56,000.

Almost a quarter of a million jobs are vacant in Switzerland. Most vacancies can be found in nursing. This is the finding of x28 AG in its “Jobradar” published on Monday.
The job platform registered 246,942 open vacancies in the first quarter of 2022 (reference date February 15).
According to the industry list of x28, employees in the healthcare sector are particularly sought after (13,698). This is followed by the construction industry (12,585) and then retail trade. The IT sector as well as the catering and hotel industry, each with over 11,000 vacancies.
Coop and Credit Suisse have a high need for staff
Looking at the individual companies, the retailer Coop (2278) in particular is desperately looking for new staff. According to “Jobradar”, the major bank Credit Suisse (789) and the city of Zurich (586) also have a high need for employees.
Most jobs can also be found in the canton of Zurich (55,942) followed by the canton of Bern (40,787). There are also many vacancies in the canton of Aargau (17,448) and in the canton of St. Gallen (16,117).
The personnel company “x28” uses a so-called “web spider” to evaluate all job advertisements found on job portals and company websites every mid-month.
