New York In New York, the highest number of deaths in a day has been announced. But at least: the number of hospital admissions is falling.

The number of coronavirus deaths in the US state of New York is rising steadily. As Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Thursday, 799 people died within one day as a result of infection – the highest number reported to date. The day before, 779 people were killed, the day before 731. In total, New York has so far recorded 7067 coronavirus deaths.

At the same time, Cuomo emphasized that the number of patient admissions to hospitals is falling. The number of hospital patients increased by 200 net. “That’s the lowest number since this nightmare began.”

The infection curve is flattening out, but efforts to contain the virus should not slacken, warned the governor. “We can’t relax.” He appealed to the population to keep leaving the house as little as possible.

New York is the focus of the epidemic in the United States. In the state with the metropolis of the same name, there are by far the most cases of infection and death. More than 430,000 infections and around 15,000 deaths have already been confirmed nationwide.
