There are now 1,139 corona patients in the hospital, of which 239 in the ICU, reports the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS). Yesterday there were still 1070 covid patients in the hospital, which is an increase of 69 patients.
Up to 10 a.m. this morning, 5,983 new confirmed corona infections were reported to the RIVM. Yesterday, the RIVM reported 5,829 new infections, so the increase is 154. That is significantly less than the increase of 836 that was noted a day earlier. An average of 4,841 positive tests per day were reported in the past seven days, compared with 3,145 a week earlier.
14 deceased covid patients have been reported to the RIVM. Another 13 deaths were reported yesterday. In the past seven days, RIVM registered an average of 17 deaths per day, against 14 deaths per day a week earlier.
Due to backlogs at the GGD, deaths are not always immediately reported. Some deaths were therefore not last week, but were only reported to the RIVM last week. The number of reported deaths is therefore lagging behind.
Most of the reported infections were found in Amsterdam, namely 493. Many positive tests were also counted in Rotterdam and The Hague, 446 and 411 respectively.
