Almost 2 million euros invested in Sivom Nord Allier

Bagneux. Quality water at SIVOM Nord Allier. The works for the Bagneux drinking water production station, which began in February 2020, have been completed. They were inaugurated by the president of Sivom Nord Allier, Christophe de Contenson, by the director, Jérôme Robert

.

The goal: to restore the “calcocarbon balance” of the water produced at the Bagneux station, the so-called “aggressive” water.

Remove carbon dioxide from the water

The Bagneux station supplies seventeen municipalities of the northern Allier with drinking water and has the role of correcting the acidic pH of the water.

The project was important with a total amount of € 1.995.290. The loan is distributed as follows: SIVOM Nord Allier, € 1,022,212; Loire Brittany Water Agency, € 490,800; County Council, € 482,278.

If an aggressive water to be consumed “does not create health risks” it is a problem because it attacks the metals of pipes, water heaters and fittings. Thus, it leads to premature wear of pipe materials and storage tanks.
