Between 10 and 23 September, 168 corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in our country. That is an increase of 144 percent compared to the period of two weeks before. In the week of 17 and 23 September, an average of 1,528 infections per day were registered (+24 percent), according to the preliminary data on the online dashboard of the Sciensano health institute on Sunday.

The number of new infections is increasing less quickly than in the previous days. On Saturday there was an increase of 40 percent and on Friday of an increase of 48 percent. A total of 112,803 corona infections have already been registered.
The number of hospital admissions rose by an average of 65 (+19.7 percent) between 17 and 23 September. There were 626 people in hospital on Saturday, 120 of whom were in the intensive care unit. Sixty people had to be ventilated.
On average, 4.1 people died per day between 17 and 23 September (+1.4 percent). 9,974 people have already died from the corona virus in our country.
