Seventy-five years after the end of World War II, Germany continues to have many unexploded bombs, often found on construction sites.
Seven of these bombs were deactivated this year after they were discovered on the site chosen to install the first European Tesla electric car plant near Berlin in 2021.
Other bombs were deactivated this year in Cologne (west) and Dortmund (west).
In 2017, the discovery of a 1.4-ton bomb in Frankfurt resulted in the removal of 65,000 people, the largest evacuation operation in Europe since 1945.
