LIVE Techno – A asteroid The size of a 50-story skyscraper will hurtle past Earth on Sunday, July 17, 2022. It made its closest approach to our planet after nearly 100 years.
The space rock, dubbed 2022 KY4 will safely pass Earth at about 3.8 million miles (6.1 million kilometers) or more than 16 times the average distance between Earth and the moon, according to the Aeronautics and Space Administration.NASA).
The distance is further than the asteroid 2022 NF which has a distance of 56,000 miles (90,000 km) or about 23 percent of the average distance between Earth and the Moon which made its approach on July 7 yesterday.
Asteroid 2022 KY4 It is about 290 feet (88 meters) in diameter at its widest point and travels at about 16,900 mph (27,000 km/h) or eight times faster than an accelerating rifle bullet.

The space rock has previously made several approaches to Earth, most recently in 1959 and 1948. The asteroid won’t make another approach until May 2048, according to the Uncle Sam country agency.
NASA and other space agencies closely monitor thousands of near-Earth objects. Even if the asteroid’s trajectory is millions of miles from our planet, there is a possibility that the asteroid’s orbit will shift after interacting with the gravity of a larger object, such as a planet.
