Almere City has done good business in the Kitchen Champion Division. Young AZ was beaten 2-0 at home by goals from Damon Mirani and Mees Kaandorp. NEC got no further than a 2-2 draw against Helmond Sport.
Almere City – Jong AZ 2-0
Almere City has further strengthened the lead in the Kitchen Champion Division. The team of trainer Ole Tobiasen fought against Young AZ in the second half. With about fifteen minutes to play, Mirani put the home team 1-0 after good preparatory work by Ryan Koolwijk.
A few minutes later, Kaandorp made the decision in Almere by working the 2-0 behind Young AZ keeper Baeu Roos. Because of the victory, Almere is on 27 points after eleven games played. SC Cambuur is on 22 points after nine games and can still go beyond Almere.
NEC Nijmegen – Helmond Sport 2-2
A very mediocre match by NEC against Helmond Sport. The guests took the lead after three minutes of play in Nijmegen via Jelle Goselink and managed to make it difficult for NEC. Halfway through the first half, the home team did come on the same level: Terell Ondaan was able to make it 1-1 on a pass from Jonathan Okita.
In the second half, NEC seemed to take the game quickly. Bart van Rooij gave his team a 2-1 lead after two minutes of play in the second company. Helmond, however, had a number of excellent chances and managed to take advantage of one of them: in the 83rd minute it was Karim Loukili who put the 2-2 on the scoreboard.
NEC remains in fifth place in the Kitchen Champion Division due to the draw, Helmond rises a bit and is now fifteenth.
