He Almassora Town Hall will reward the Real Estate Tax (IBI) and that of Constructions, Installations and Works (ICIO) to those homes that incorporate solar energy. The Finance Commission next Monday will approve the modification of the fiscal ordinance to raise it to the municipal plenary session and contribute from the public administration to the commitment to sustainability in the private sphere, as declared by the mayor of the area, Santiago Agustí.
Specifically, the bonus will affect systems for the thermal use of solar energy, those for electrical use of solar energy for self-consumption when they are not connected to the electricity grid or for those solar energy systems connected to the grid provided that the same covers at least 60% of the electrical demand of the property.
The 25% reduction will be applied to the IBI for the three periods following the completion of the installation of these systems. In the case of works, the discount will be 95% of the ICIO fee in those constructions, installations or specific works that are necessary to incorporate systems for the term or electrical use of solar energy.
This is a bonus that the Almassora City Council will grant upon request of the interested party and that must be accredited by means of a certificate or report from the director of the works or project editor, in addition to the execution budget that these works represent in the total project. “The modification of the ordinance will help owners who bet on sustainable energy in their homes, which undoubtedly represents the future,” according to Santiago Agustí.
This discount is added to other economic measures in force in favor of interventions, for example, in buildings integrated within the rehabilitation area of the historic center and in works carried out in premises or buildings located on the beach that are going to be used for activities commercial or service (pharmacies, cafeterias, hairdressers, grocery stores …).
Along the same lines, there is a 95% reduction in the tax rate for restoration and repair of facades, including cleaning, stuccoing and painting facades and balconies, as well as repainting shutters, doors, bars and railings. In this sense, the actions must be in line with the characteristics of the environment and those of the building itself, in accordance with current ordinances.
