Alluding to JIS in the presence of Jokowi’s son-in-law, Anies: There is no grass here

FAJAR.CO.ID, MAKASSAR — Anies Baswedan presented a picture of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in front of mayors throughout Indonesia. The Coalition for Change presidential candidate (candidate) illustrates JIS as a symbol of an advanced city.

“Here’s a picture of JIS,” said Anies pointing to the presentation of the material he put on the screen. When he was a speaker at the XVI City Government Association (APEKSI) National Working Meeting (Rakernas) discussion in Makassar City, Thursday (13/7/2023).

One of the Mayors who attended the APEKSI National Working Meeting this time was Bobby Nasution, Mayor of Medan who is also President Jokowi’s son-in-law.

The image features JIS photographed from the air. The large building, which is now a polemic, stands out from the other buildings around it.

“But there’s no grass here. So you can’t see the grass here,” Anies joked. Followed by laughter and applause from the audience.

Initially, Anies conveyed that there were four characteristics of a city that he considered ideal. Namely livable, beautiful, just and advanced.

“About four of those are what we will do in the future,” he said.

The former Governor of DKI Jakarta then explained the meaning of these four things. He said, livable means the water is clean, fine, then the boards are available. Adequate accommodation is available.

“Then beautiful, good living environment,” he explained.

Then just what Anies meant, he said the city provides equal opportunities. Starting from health education to religious activities.

Lastly, he explains the word advanced. By using JIS images as an illustration.
