A summer singing program Sing-along at Skansen has been among Swedes’ favorites for decades. Now the popularity seems to be on the wane.
The Swedish website Nyheter24 reports that the Allsång season seen this summer has been exceptionally bad in terms of viewership. Whereas last year the program reached an average of 1.3 million viewers weekly, this summer’s episodes have had difficulty even reaching a million.
According to the site, the episode shown last week had the lowest viewership figures in the history of measurement. On August 6, the Skansen stage was performed by, among others Miss Li and Simon Superti. Only 715,000 people watched the program on television, fewer than ever before.
The previous “record” was from 1997. At that time Lasse Berghagenin the program he hosted gathered 830,000 viewers.

– (Allsång på Skansen’s) average viewership was more than 200,000, so I interpret it as the content has a strong core audience that has developed over the years, executive producer of TV1 Pentti Väliahdet tells Iltalehte.
The number of viewers of the episode a week ago was lower than usual in Finland as well. Väliahdet explains this by the fact that at the same time the women’s javelin throw final was held at the Olympics, in which two Finns competed.
