Members of a family in Pinellas County, Florida, were having breakfast when they suddenly heard a growl from inside their home that caused them great fear.

Tim Kelly, commented to Fox 5, who immediately stopped drinking his cup of coffee and when he went to see where the growl was coming from, he found an alligator stuck under a table.

“He must have gone through it and got stuck, and he wasn’t very happy. I have to tell you, when he was there and he was caught up in it, I was like, Wow, now what am I going to do?

After the surprise, the man decided to ask the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for help so that experts in these cases would come to his house to remove the animal that measured between 7 and 9 feet.

The residents of the home experienced a moment of tension as the alligator managed to free itself from the table before FWC personnel arrived but instead of attacking, the animal decided to dive into the pool of the house and rested for a moment on the stairs.

Kelly added that FWC officials managed to catch the animal without complications and now, due to its size, it is planning to be relocated to an area where it does not pose a danger to the population.

Alligator sightings in populated areas will gradually increase as they enter the mating season, a time when they become territorial and there may be attacks.

Florida residents, between the months of August and November, have the possibility of requesting permission to hunt up to two specimens.

Florida government data indicate that more than 1.3 million alligators inhabit the entire state territory, a species that was recovering its positive population numbers after being in danger of extinction in the 1960s.
