Allier’s primary care physicians are looking to solidify a care stay

“On average we receive 200 patient calls a day. And this can increase during exceptional days ”, explains Jean-Antoine Rosati, president of the Association of liberal doctors of the Allier for the permanence of care (Amlaps 03). “For example, on December 31, we received 380 calls between noon and 8pm. »

And to respond to these patients by calling the treatment centre: the general practitioners of the ward.

Medical deserts: in the Allier no area is spared from the lack of general practitioners

A departmental number established in March

“Currently, we are twenty-three years old. But unfortunately, this is still too little. We are not enough. We would need a dozen more doctors”, underlines Michel Zilber, vice president of Amlaps 03.

“We must therefore be able to increase the team of regulatory doctors,” adds Jean-Antoine Rosati. An essential team as part of building a future Care Access Service (SAS), a service the State hopes to gradually roll out this year.

“Through a new departmental telephone number, effective from the end of March, we have daytime regulation from 8:00 to 20:00. It is a liberal regulation [assurée par des généralistes, NDLR] in collaboration with the regulation, for vital emergencies, of Samu. »

Jean-Antoine Rosati (President of Amlaps 03)

The liberal stay is ensured, during the day, at 04.30.23.30.23.

A lack of staff

But due to lack of manpower, this rule, implemented above all to lighten the hospital system, is not for the moment daily. “There are still holes. This is why we organize training on the subject, thanks to the participation of the CPTS [communautés professionnelles territoriales de santé, NDLR]. This should enable us to strengthen our workforce. »

Like the one organized on Saturday 7 January in Montluçon, for five doctors. Others will take place in June in Vichy, in September in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Sioule and in December in Moulins.

“This allows doctors to learn how to manage calls, assess their severity… They will then be able to give medical advice, decide on medical transport or refer to an on-call doctor. »

Jean-Antoine Rosati (President of Amlaps 03)

Michel Zilber however underlines: “It is a means of supporting people who do not have a doctor… but the solution is necessarily incomplete since in all cases there is a shortage of doctors and a crisis of liberal medicine. »

“We are the last bastion” warn general practitioners on their last legs
