Lille (Nord), Dijon (Côte-d´Or), Grenoble (Isère), Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) are cities a priori acquired on the left, but on which left? The traditional PS-environmentalist alliance is no longer automatic. In Dijon as in Lille, the PS list came out on top. The two outgoing mayors therefore do not want to make room for the Greens. François Rebsamen and Martine Aubry are targeted without appointing them by the National Secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens.
“Some barons say that they want to do without the environmentalists, as if there had been no first round, as if at times we had not done 20, 25% or more”, explains Julien Bayou, national secretary of Europe Ecology-The Greens. If some elected socialists refuse to merge with the Greens, it is also for an arithmetic reason.
