After years of hardship, the Czech customer finally has a reason to be happy. It seems that he might be able to buy at reasonable prices. For a long time, the domestic market was dominated by a few merchants who did not compete against each other much on price, because they soon discovered that they would make the most if they all kept the prices very high, so that the customer had no possibility of escape.
There are new players
Of course, it can always be found, but it was complicated for a long time. After all, who would want to go shopping in Poland, although in reality more and more people are doing it because they have no other option. They simply don’t want to pay double or triple the price for a common thing, for which it can be had just over the border.
However, the change is finally being brought about by the so-called internet marketplaces, two of which have entered the Czech market. While the first of them is operated by Kaufland, which also operates here as a brick-and-mortar chain, so you can’t expect any interesting things from it, the waters here are mainly muddled by the second of them, namely Allegro, which has also just launched a large advertising campaign.
More and more Czechs are discovering that it is common to pay significantly lower prices for goods. It is Allegro that enables Polish traders to reach Czech customers. Things from thousands of different stores are available in one place, even from Poland, where there are completely different things. When it comes to food, you will find more durable ones here, but you can save a lot on, for example, furniture, electronics, household equipment, clothes, garden supplies, toys and other categories. In short, on everything you can think of.

Customers don’t believe at first, then they buy like crazy
“At first I didn’t believe it, and I considered the advertisement in the sense that there are tens of thousands of items at the reliably lowest prices to be classically boastful and unrealistic. But then I looked once, and I couldn’t help but wonder,” describes Mrs. Romana, who has already become a regular customer at Allegra. “It is completely different from what has been here before. I feel like I’m buying at prices like ten years ago.“
Czech stores can also work on Allegra, but at first glance you will find that you will not get the best offers from them. The advantage of the marketplace is the fact that you don’t have to be afraid to buy even at a store you don’t know, because it is the marketplace that is your business partner and often arranges the delivery itself.

Czech merchants understandably do not like this, because they are facing huge competition, to which they will have to adapt in terms of price. That’s why customers are already scared by the fact that Polish stores do not provide nearly as long a warranty, which is usually not true at all, because everything is governed by the uniform conditions of the European market.
