The young woman (22) who filed a complaint against Marco Borsato on Monday takes into account ‘a long-term and very emotional agony’ now that the singer has filed a counter report for, among other things, libel and slander.

The Telegraph

“This is not what my client had hoped for,” the alleged victim’s lawyer told De Telegraaf on Saturday. “The step that Mr. Borsato has taken means that he cannot go back,” said the lawyer.

“She (the alleged victim, ed.) was prepared for that, but she also took into account the possibility that Mr Borsato would take a different position. That road is now cut off. Of course, the client can now in turn file a complaint against Mr. Borsato for making false declarations, slander and defamation. But we think it’s wise not to do that,” says Plasman.

Additional supporting documents

“From the moment a request was made on 9 December 2021 to the Public Prosecution Service to initiate an exploratory investigation into the sources of the unjust insinuations towards Mr Marco Borsato, he has been working with his lawyers to prepare this detailed declaration. and to provide a number of additional supporting documents,” said Knoops’ Advocaten, the office that assists Borsato. In short: since Borsato was aware of the charges against him, he started putting together a file with his lawyers to prove his innocence.

Borsato has also filed a complaint against the mother of the alleged victim, for “inciting and complicity in previous acts.”

The 22-year-old woman filed a complaint last week and states that she has been sexually abused by Borsato since she was fifteen. The Public Prosecution Service is now investigating the case. Last week, Borsato announced through his lawyers that he had asked the Public Prosecution Service to investigate the origin of the allegations, which he firmly denies.
