Coup d’etat Myanmar also ate the victims of the prisoners who were in prison. An official from the Party National League for Democracy (NLD) founded by Myanmar’s de-facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi, was killed in custody.

As reported Reuters, Monday (8/3/2021), Khin Maung Latt was arrested when the Myanmar police cracked down hard on the people demonstrator anti-military junta on Saturday (6/3) evening, after 21:00 local time. He was detained at a police station in Pabedan district, Yangon.

The death of Khin Maung Latt, 58, in police custody was disclosed by colleagues from the NLD. He is known to be the head of the local NLD in the Yangon region – the largest city in Myanmar.

According to other officials from the NLD, they suspect the 58-year-old man was tortured after being detained by the cracking police demonstrator Myanmar’s anti-junta military.

According to his deputy, Khin San Myint, the photos from the military hospital where Kin Maung Latt died showed him having wounds on the back of his head and bruises on his back.

“Doctors said that was not the cause of death,” Khin San Myint told local reporters. “They say it’s because of a heart condition,” he added.

A charity foundation volunteer who saw Khin San Myint’s body, separately stated there were bruises on the head and chest, as well as there were stitches next to the head of Khin Maung Latt’s body. This volunteer refused to be named.

Reuters has not been able to contact the doctor or hospital in question.
