A New York City police officer was run over in Brooklyn while on duty after a driver started the car when the officer realized it was a stolen vehicle, according to authorities.
According to the Police report, the incident occurred on Wednesday, around 6:30 pm, near the corner of East 83rd Street and Foster Avenue in the Canarsie neighborhood. At that time, the uniformed man patrolling the area observed a stolen car in a driveway, police said.
As he approached the car, where the driver was, the suspect closed the window, started the car and ran over the policeman.
The victim ended up with a broken ankle and a wounded thigh. She is in stable condition, the uniformed said.
So far there are no arrests and the Police are investigating the events.
