Polda Metro Jaya has received a report regarding the allegations harassment by a chancellor universities in Jakarta. The victim has been questioned.
“(The victim) has had his statement taken as part of the investigation,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to detikcomSaturday (24/2/2024).
Ade Ary said that currently the report is being processed at the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya. Investigators are still investigating the report.
The victim, a woman with the initials R, reported the chancellor of a university in upper Jakarta alleged sexual harassment. The victim reported the case on January 12, 2024.
The report is registered with the number LP/B/193/I/2024/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated January 12 2024. The victim reported the chancellor under Article 6 of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Crimes of Sexual Violence (TPKS).
The victim’s attorney, Amanda Mantovani, briefly explained the chronology of the incident. The alleged harassment occurred in the reported room.
“In February 2023, the reported party called the victim to the room for work,” said Amanda, in her statement, Friday (23/2) evening.
He explained that at that time the victim came to the reported room. However, suddenly, the victim received harassment.
Suddenly the victim was shocked and fell silent after being harassed by the reported party. It didn’t stop there, the reported party was said to have touched the victim’s sensitive parts.
Victims Transferred
The victim complained about the incident to his superiors. However, instead of receiving protection, the victim was instead transferred.
The alleged harassment occurred in the chancellor’s office. The incident occurred in mid-February 2023.
“Regarding this incident, the victim immediately left the room and complained to his superiors. However, on February 20 2023, the victim actually received a transfer and demotion letter,” said Amanda.
