Well-known game journalist and insider Jeff Grubb said in his paid yesterday vidcast GrubbSnax told Giant Bomb that he had heard from credible sources about the postponement of Horizon Forbidden West to 2022:
“I’ve heard, although it’s not yet confirmed, that something is going on in September” and I don’t know if I want to be the first to say it – but I think “the game” will be postponed to 2022. I’m not sure, I think they themselves are not definitively decided, but they are leaning towards Horizon Forbidden West in 2022. I think they will have a State of Play show in September to say “we have other titles in the fall, here are some interesting ones, don’t worry” but at the same time announce the postponement of Horizon . “
The report has now been confirmed by game journalist Jason Schreier, who has checked it with his own resources and found that the postponement to the first quarter of 2022 is real:
“Sony has postponed PlayStation’s exclusive Horizon Forbidden West for the first quarter of 2022, a Bloomberg source said in an article named” a person familiar with the circumstances, “confirming rumors shared by Jeff Grubb yesterday. This is another in a cascade of 2021 postponements in the gaming industry. “

In his article, Schreier mentions more demanding conditions of development (from home) due to the pandemic situation as a probable cause of the delay. In any case, we will probably all agree that it is better to wait for the game and get it in the best possible condition than to rush its release.
