Alleged Leaking of Secret KPK Documents: Video Emerges Implicating KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri

Jakarta

One by one the documentation allegedly related to the leaking of secret KPK documents emerged. After the sound recording, there is now a video recording that is mentioned regarding the alleged leak involving the KPK chairman Firli Bahuri.

Information about this can be seen in one of the tweets on Twitter which was also retweeted by 2 former KPK investigators namely Novel Baswedan and Yudi Purnomo. Novel only retweeted the tweet, while Yudi made few comments.

“My experience is the atmosphere when KPK investigators searched, wore gloves, and the situation was interrogating the owner of the evidence found to ask what the documents were related to and why they got to him, who gave them,” Yudi said via his Twitter account as quoted, Monday (10/4/2023).

From the video which lasts for approximately 26 seconds, it can be seen that the box contains a number of document files. The video does not fully show the parties involved in the conversation. There seems to be one person wearing a watch on his right hand. The man wasn’t wearing gloves when he picked up the files in the box. Another person was seen wearing black gloves. The person wearing the gloves is suspected of being a KPK investigator.

Here’s the conversation overheard in the video:

Oh, this is what I was talking about earlier. Yes I was mentioned here. Mr. Minister got it from Mr. Firli. From Mr. Firli got it. Better not. sensitive.

The audio from the video clip is the same as the audio recording that was previously circulated. It was narrated that the incident occurred when KPK investigators searched a room at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources regarding the alleged corruption case of budget cuts as if the debt was related to performance allowances (tukin) at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal of Energy and Mineral Resources some time ago.

KPK Submits Alleged Leakage to Dewas

A number of parties, including former KPK leaders, namely Abraham Samad, Saut Situmorang, to Bambang Widjojanto and Novel Baswedan today, Monday (10/4/2023) have reported KPK chairman Firli Bahuri to the KPK Dewas with his alleged involvement in the document leak. The KPK, through the Head of Reporting Unit, Ali Fikri, handed over this matter to the KPK Board of Trustees.

“On the other hand, we certainly really appreciate a number of parties who reported the dynamics and issues of suspected document leaks to the KPK Board,” said Ali.

“According to their main functions, the KPK Board of Trustees will follow up professionally according to SOP and be independent from the influence of any party. We are all of course also waiting for the results of the follow-up from the KPK Board of Trustees,” he said.

Ali said the KPK was still working as usual. He asked that no party build a counterproductive narrative that would interfere with eradicating corruption.

“So let us leave the process to the mechanism at the Dewas, so we hope that there will be no more parties who build counterproductive narratives regarding the issue in question,” he said.

“Because it will actually disrupt the stability of eradicating corruption in Indonesia,” he added.
