NEW YORK – Police authorities a Hispanic man was arrested in Queens on suspicion of raping at least three womentwo of these quinceañeras.
New York Police Department (NYPD) officers Andrés Portilla, 28, was arrested on Thursday. The man was accused of kidnapping, rape and aggravated sexual abuse of three victims, two aged 15 and one aged 21.
The chain of attacks began last September in Elmhurst when the suspect allegedly attacked one of the fifteen-year-olds who fled her Long Island home.
In December, the man kidnapped the other minor and assaulted her near Yellowstone Boulevard and 62nd Avenue in Forest Hills.
In the early morning of New Year’s Day, the alleged pervert seduced the third victim to his vehicle to charge his phone. He then attacked her at Queens Plaza South and 27th Street.
According to the NBC report, the suspect allegedly freaked out when he saw an image of a missing person on the cell phone of one of the victims. The 21-year-old woman’s family had filed a missing person report with authorities.
It is not clear how Portilla, who had a criminal record before these incidents, made contact with the teenagers.
The authorities are investigating whether more women were victims of the Hispanic.
