The General Administration for Family Protection of the Ministry of Human Resources in Saudi Arabia defines domestic violence as “any form of exploitation or physical, psychological, or sexual abuse, or the threat thereof, committed by one person against another person, exceeding the limits of his jurisdiction, authority, or Responsibility, or because of the family relationship, support relationship, sponsorship, guardianship, or living dependency… Mistreatment includes a person’s negligence or refusal to fulfill his duties or obligations in providing the basic needs of another member of his family, or someone who is legally responsible for it or system to provide these needs for them.”
