According to a video by Cuban influencer Darwin Santana, the person who reported Gil would have been an alleged cousin who resides in Baracoa and owns a MSME.
A follower of the YouTube channel Darwin’s Worldassured that this cousin was recently arrested in Baracoa for illegal activities, but that all the confiscated properties were returned to him, which makes many think that the man agreed to work for State Security and ended up being one of those who provided evidence in against Gil.
According to this complaint, the man has great influence in Baracoa, which is why, the times he has been investigated, he has been contacted by agents from the capital, as the authorities fear that the local police officers could warn him about the operations against him. .
“About three or four years ago the FBI-style police attacked him at dawn, but it wasn’t the Baracoa police, or even the Guantánamo police. He was directly an operation from Havana, since State Security feared that if they were the local law enforcement officers, there could have been a report to notify him due to the high degree of corruption in the town.
On that occasion, two cars, cash and an oil tanker that he had in his own home were confiscated from the man.
“They took many illegal things from him, he had a juicer and they took that away from him too,” adds the influencer’s source.
According to the complaint, the man’s influence is such that when some budgeted sectors such as Health and Education do not have money to pay their workers, he goes to the bank with enough money to lend it to the State.
“I don’t believe in coincidences. For me, coincidences are suspicions and it cannot be that the cousin has so much money, that they put him in prison, that he gets out and then the other one, the Minister of Economy, falls, and he does not fall because he should fall like a crash,” said the influencer.
