All You Can Eat FoodUnie restaurant temporarily closed due to enforcement

Customers of the All You Can Eat FoodUnie restaurant in Wormerveer recently received an email in which the restaurant announced that it had to close its doors temporarily.

In the email, the owner spoke about the decision with a ‘heavy heart’, stressing that the closure was due to ‘circumstances beyond their control’. The operator gave an opportunity to think about improvements and thanked customers for their support and loyalty.

After inquiring with the restaurant, an employee confirmed over the phone that the temporary closure was imposed by ‘force’, and that the restaurant will remain closed until November. The employee did not want to comment any further, and also said he preferred not to write about the situation.

NVWA

Efforts to get clarity on the closure through the Netherlands Food and Consumer Safety Authority (NVWA) were unsuccessful. A spokesman for the NVWA was not available due to picket duty and said such matters are not a priority.

If the closure is related to hygiene or pest problems, it will likely be temporary. In such cases, the NVWA advises the entrepreneur to thoroughly clean the building, after which it will be possible to request a new inspection to consider reopening. Last November, the restaurant was inspected and found to be in order.

FoodUnie, located in the Noorderveld shopping center – close to Praxis and Babypark, among others – hopes to be able to offer future guests an ‘even better experience’ once the doors open again.

Through the website It is still possible to make a reservation at the restaurant, but only for October 29. It is not possible for the entire month of November, tickets will only be accepted again from December 1.
