This was stated by the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Luis Medina Ruiz, who toured the Fanzolato Vaccination Node, in Yerba Buena, where people were receiving the fourth and fifth doses against Covid, increasing immunity.
On the occasion, the official remarked that all vaccines in Argentina are good and effective against Covid-19. Regarding the effectiveness of the monovalent vaccine, he reported that it was tested in the fifth wave, where more than 12,600 people had Covid with a positive laboratory and 20 died, of which the vast majority did not have immunization or had two doses, or had some important underlying disease.
“The effectiveness of the original monovalent vaccine is highly proven. In any case, in the province we have the bivariate vaccine, which contains the possibility of generating immunity against the original Wuhan variant and against the omicron, which is the one that is circulating at the moment,” explained the minister.
In addition, he recommended that those people who do not have all the booster doses placed do so if four months have passed since the last one: “This protects from serious illness, the possibility of intensive therapy and death.”
He also thanked the health personnel who are working today, Saturday, in all jobs, especially in the control of dengue outbreaks, in vaccination centers, intensive care units and guards. “And I want to thank the trust and willingness of the citizens who attended our vaccination nodes today,” she added.
For her part, the person in charge of the Fanzolato Vaccination Center, licensed Roxana SercanHe thanked the minister for his presence and invited the population to come to receive the doses that have not yet been placed. “We are working with bivalent, modern pediatric Pfizer for children under 12 years of age, and above all we want them to take advantage of these last days of school vacations. Vaccination is an individual act, but the results are collective. We are waiting for you, ”he closed.
