In Ukraine, from May 1, all consumers will be transferred to annual gas tariffs. Those companies that do not have their own production and that have not signed an agreement with Naftogaz can offer a tariff of 12-15 UAH. Others can sell a cubic meter for UAH 8 (at the moment, UAH 6.99).
This is stated in the material kоsatka.media… Gas expert Yevhen Palenka said that if the supplier does not have gas of its own production and there is no contract with NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine on the supply of gas, then the supplier must calculate the future gas price by April 25.
“If we now look at futures for the next 12 months, we can talk about the price of 22 euros / kW * hour. The second indicator that needs to be predicted is the exchange rate of euro / hryvnia. We can take 35 UAH / euro as an expectation. The supplier cannot calculate the annual product at all, because it is not known how many consumers will remain and how many will leave. With such data, a more or less safe figure for a supplier who does not have its own production and a contract with Naftogaz will offer a price of 12 to 15 thousand UAH per thousand cubic meters “, – said Palenka.
According to him, this will be the price that will ensure the economic feasibility of the operation of an independent supplier in the market.
At the same time, Palenka recalled that Naftogaz and the RGK company signed an agreement on the supply of the latter gas to the population at an annual rate. The terms of the contract were not disclosed. If the price formula contains such indicators as gas prices at hubs and the euro / hryvnia exchange rate, then it will be difficult to predict such a price, according to Palenki. If the price is fixed in hryvnia, then the question arises whether other gas suppliers will have the opportunity to conclude contracts with the NJSC for gas supplies on the same terms.
As previously wrote OBOZREVATEL, in Ukraine since April 1, 2021 gas suppliers can set any prices for blue fuel without restriction of the Cabinet. As a result, several companies decided to raise the tariff from 6.99 to 8.25-8.85 UAH per cubic meter.
