Altay Technical Director Mustafa Denizli was chosen as the “Role model of all time” by İzmir Girls’ High School.
Speaking in an interview with the students before the ceremony held at İzmir Girls’ High School, Denizli said that when he first came to Altay when he started playing football, he was sent back because he was not physically fit.
“NEVER STOP”
However, Denizli noted that he did not give up and worked in the beaches and forests of Çeşme. “I improved my physique and only five months later I was selected for the Junior National Team. From there I came back to Altay. You guys never give up” said.

“CHOOSE DIFFICULT GOALS”
Denizli stated that Altay is the basis of the successes he has achieved in his footballing and coaching life, and said:
“Set your vision and goal. Choose difficult goals. The harder your goal, the greater the value of your success. There is no end to success, there is always something better and you should focus on it. Just the education you get at school is not enough. Even a day is free. Don’t stop, add something to yourself. Do not forget that every day you spend free, a young person from another part of the world is working and is getting better than you. To be like my idol Metin Oktay, I worked for hours like him hitting the walls of Çeşme Castle. No success is a coincidence There’s always a story behind it, so try to find that story.”
“THE DAY I SHOOTED MY FIRST GOAL FROM THE CORNER”
Describing Altay as “my home”, Denizli continued his words as follows:
“I won all the successes thanks to Altay. Today I am here with you again thanks to Altay. Alsancak is not a district for me, it is a place of experiences. So is our stadium. I spent a lifetime there. I still remember the day I scored my first goal from the corner, as if it had just happened. It stands with all its vitality. Our stadium will open in November. We look forward to that day.”

After her speech, İzmir Girl’s High School Principal Suna Yoldaş Cantepe went to Denizli. “Role model of all time” handed the trophy. Denizli, on the other hand, presented Cantepe and his assistant manager Fahrettin Gülşahin with the jersey on which their names were written.
