Hours before the closing gala in which the winners of the 37th edition will be revealed. edition of the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the unofficial awards were announced in an informal ceremony that took place this Saturday at noon in the foyer of the city’s Auditorium Theater.
The delivery of Independent awards presented by 23 film industry associations and bodiessaw the participation of national cinema personalities and was chaired by the president of the competition, Juan Lima; its artistic director, paul count; and the interim president of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), Nicholas Batlle.
In addition to thanking the commitment of the institutions and trade associations that accompanied the festival, Batlle celebrated “the extension for another fifty years of the specific appropriations for the cultural industries, made possible thanks to the sanction of the Senate”.
Juan Lima, for his part, underlined: “We are very happy with the work and the result of this edition”, he assured, “those of us who make the festival lend themselves to this game which involves the awarding”.
Finally, the artistic director of the festival, Pablo Conde, said that this edition had filled him “with joy” and underlined that “all the films in competition could have some representative in their exhibitions” and added that he believes that “the he important thing is the possibility of meeting between guests and the public”.
