The vaccination campaign of the Pescara Local Health Authority against influenza and Covid 19 for 2024/2925 is underway. The vaccinations will be administered in general medical practices, in participating pharmacies, in the clinics of the hygiene, epidemiology and public health unit of the local health authority.
Citizens who fall into the categories indicated by the Ministry of Health will be able to contact them for free administration. The aim is to offer free protection against seasonal flu to
most vulnerable segments of the population, such as adults aged 60 or over, pregnant women and in the postpartum period, all those suffering from chronic pathologies as well as professional categories: healthcare and social-health personnel, law enforcement agencies, firefighters, farmers and those in contact with animals that could be a source of infection with non-human influenza viruses. Vaccination is also recommended for blood donors and, in order to reduce overall transmission of influenza, for all children 6 months to 6 years of age.
The anti Covid-19 vaccination is instead recommended for all people aged 60 or over, all those in highly fragile conditions that expose them to the risk of severe Covid19, pregnant and postpartum women, healthcare workers and socio-healthcare. The flu campaign is also an opportunity to offer pneumococcal vaccination to those over 65 and people who belong to risk categories.
